Overview
ICA offers top-notch proficiency programs in partnership with numerous institutions of higher learning in Kenya and across the globe. These proficiency courses are meant to update and enhance the skill set of our members with the aim of having them excel in their careers. Numerous research outcomes indicate that the labor market favors skill-based professionals as opposed the traditional academic qualifications. ICA has therefore come up with top notch proficiency courses alongside some key and skill based annual training programs that will benefit our members in a big way.
In Kenya and Africa today, there is glaring gap between most of the workers’ academic qualifications and the jobs their current job placements. This challenge cuts across nearly all the sectors of the economy. Some of the main examples include doctors, whose primary training is on the medical practice but who end up as hospital administrators; professional teachers, who in the course of their practice end up taking such roles school administrators; accountants, who while progressing through their ranks end up practicing less of accounting, and more of administration. Administration, being the backbone of every organization, is among the oldest professions to ever exist and is complete both in theory and practice. However, like swimming, administration cannot be sufficiently taught in a classroom and one must commit to a lifetime of learning and practice.

History And Background
As the principal institute for administrative management in Kenya, a fundamental object for which the institute is established is the promotion and advancement of the efficient administration of commerce, industry, and public affairs by the continued development of the study and practice of administration of organizations.

The institute of certified administrators was established for the following objects:

- To facilitate and maintain strategic linkages, cooperation and collaboration among institutions and individual professionals in the field of administration.
- To establish and maintain a qualifying scheme that is pitched at proficiency, associate and certified levels; is practical and is a key benchmark for administrative management and expertise.
